 The artists in "Transitional Aesthetics" were chosen both for their multicultural dispositions as well as an intrinsic strain of cross-cultural and gender-identity questions at the core of their art. The diversity of their media and processes sparks the discussion of the fragile space between dystopian and utopian fiction, without neglecting the highly personal and intimate point of departure. The works range from large-scale installation work by Jaishri Abichandani, Chitra Ganesh, Samira Abbassy, and Vandana Jain to photography, single and multiple video works, drawings, paintings, and sculptural installations.
